THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
Whether you're downloading or uploading, as you use your data, we count each session in kilobytes (1,024 bytes). This means you get more usage out of your total data plan each month than if we counted in megabytes. That means your data goes further. Each Exetel mobile plan comes with a monthly allowance of measured in gigabytes, which is 1,024 megabytes.
Exetel acts as a reseller of telecommunication services and we use the networks of a number of principal carriers, including part of the 5G and 4G mobile network and capabilities of Telstra Corporation Limited, to provide these services. The mobile solution of Exetel Prepaid Mobile Voice Plans provide a 5G coverage footprint of 75%, a 4G coverage footprint of 97.9% and a combined 5G and 4G coverage footprint of more than 98.8% of the Australian population covering 1.62 million square kilometres.
To ensure you have the best possible mobile experience, please ensure your mobile device is compatible with eSIM and the following frequency bands:
- Minimum device specification = Main Band capability.
- Optimal device specification = Main + Additional Capacity Bands.
4G - LTE Data
- Main Band: 700MHz (B28)
- Additional Capacity Bands: 1800MHz (B3), 2100MHz (B1), 2600MHz (B7)
5G - Data
- Main Band: 3600MHz (n78)
- Additional Capacity Bands: 850MHz (n5), 2600MHz (n7), 26GHz (n258)
To quickly check if your device supports eSIM, dial *#06#. If you see a 32-digit EID number, your phone is eSIM compatible.
The following devices are not eSIM ready: Samsung Galaxy A13 5G, Samsung Galaxy A13 4G, Samsung Galaxy A15 5G, Samsung Galaxy A35 5G, Motorola moto g62 5G, OPPO a53s.
If you do happen to exceed your monthly data allowance and your Data Bank is empty, Exetel will automatically block your data usage. If you want your data to keep flowing, you can recharge (or upgrade) your plan early and get another plan allowance for another 30 days. Recharging when you run out of data can be done manually when you want to recharge or you can set it to be done Automatically to save you the hassle, the choice is yours.
No lock-in means you can cancel your mobile service at any time.
If you'd like to cancel your service but keep your mobile number, you'll need to port it to another provider before cancelling with us. Once that's done, log in to the app and follow the prompts. We'll then send a confirmation to your email.
A payment verification charge of $1 may be debited from your account at the time of sale. This will be credited back to you on your first invoice. Payments made by Credit card incur a 1% transaction fee. You can avoid this fee by selecting to pay via PayTo. This option is available in your Exetel app.
At the end of each pre-paid voice plan validity period (30 days), any unused data will be credited to the Data Bank. There is up to 500GB maximum upper capacity limit for the Data Bank. Any attempts to credit data to the Data Bank that has a balance of 500GB will fail. If you downgrade your Exetel mobile pre-paid voice plan, the Data Bank balance will be lost/forfeited and reset to zero. In a downgrade scenario, unused plan or Add-on data will be credited to the new Data Bank balance after the reset to zero.
Enjoy unlimited national calls and texts with our prepaid plan. The plan operates on a 30-day cycle and includes auto-recharge for your convenience. Any unused data will roll over into your Data Bank, with a maximum of 500GB. You'll also get unlimited standard calls and SMS within Australia. Scam activity is on the rise in Australia. Scammers are using a wider array of methods, techniques, and communication avenues to reach unsuspecting victims. They are also becoming more refined at impersonating legitimate government departments, businesses, and organisations to attempt to gain access to your money and personal information.
The activation of your eSIM service will take between 15 minutes and 4 hours.
You can purchase up to 5 eSIM Only plans. However, not all at once.
Unfortunately, Exetel eSIM Only Plans do not offer Global Roaming.
If you have changed your device to a new mobile phone or you have lost your mobile device, you need to replace the eSIM card. To do so, log into your Exetel app with your account details, navigate to the mobile service section, and select the "Replace SIM" option.
To set up the eSIM on another device, install the Exetel app on that device, log in, and follow the on-screen instructions. Ensure you're connected to Wi-Fi during the process.
If you exceed your monthly data allowance and your Data Bank is empty, Exetel will automatically suspend your data usage. To continue using data, you can purchase a Data Add-on, or opt to recharge (or upgrade) your plan early, giving you a fresh data allowance for another 30-day period. You have the flexibility to recharge manually whenever you need, or you can set up Automatic Recharging to make the process hassle-free.
You can change your Exetel plan through the online portal. This method is simple and efficient, and your plan change will typically take effect within 2 business days. A revised invoice reflecting the change will then be issued.
Tethering on any Exetel mobile plan is as simple as connecting your phone (via cable, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi) to your tablet/computer and clicking search. Tethering is active by default on all plans to make it easy to use your service however you want to use it. When you connect your phone to another device, it will provide you the ability to share your mobile data connection to access the internet. By tethering your device, you will use your included data allowance.
Exetel mobile plans allow you to set up a call diversion on your mobile to any Australian fixed line or mobile number. Any diversion charges are part of your included voice allowance.
Exetel's SMS scam filter is designed to protect users from malicious messages by blocking harmful SMS content before it reaches your device. The filter scans for suspicious links, phone numbers, and patterns commonly associated with scams. This technology, part of Exetel's partnership with Telstra Wholesale, helps enhance security against SMS scams, ensuring a safer messaging experience for customers. The SMS scam filter uses advanced algorithms to detect malicious messages by analyzing various factors, including message content, sender information, and message volume. Suspicious messages are flagged, reviewed, and blocked to prevent scams from reaching your device. This system continuously adapts to evolving scam tactics, enhancing the protection provided.

5G is the next fifth generation of mobile technology. Exetel 5G is capable of delivering much faster speeds than 4G, lower latency (less lag) and greater capacity, meaning more devices can be connected to the network at the same time.
Yes, 5G coverage can be affected by a variety of factors such as the type of device you are using, the number of users in the area and your distance from the mobile base station. 5G signals may also be impacted by obstructions such as trees, buildings, and other structures. Indoor coverage may be limited and some buildings may have poor reception, which can impact the speed and reliability of your connection.
If your device does not support 5G, you can still access the Exetel 4G network and enjoy fast and reliable connectivity.
The coverage map is a guide and is not a guarantee of actual coverage. There are a number of factors that can affect your mobile coverage including, your device, your location and your mobile plan. Some of these are: your distance from a mobile tower, what the building you are in is made of, if you're in a lift or basement, if you are outdoors or in a car, or if there is interference from other devices.
Our mobile coverage is available in all capital cities and many regional areas across Australia. It's available to 98.8% of the Australian population.

CEL-FI MOBILE SIGNAL BOOSTERS
Enhancing Mobile Connectivity
Nextivity’s innovative solutions keep you connected all day—whether you’re at work, at home, or on the move. As Australia’s leading provider of advanced mobile signal enhancement products, we ensure reliable connectivity in your vehicles, boats, offices, commercial buildings, and homes. In our increasingly interconnected world, dependable mobile service and data connectivity are critical. Whether a single phone call can seal a deal or offer reassurance, network limitations often mean that connectivity falters in remote areas, behind natural obstacles, or even in basements. Our product range features the first carrier-grade cellular coverage solutions delivering unmatched signal amplification. Leveraging Nextivity’s proprietary, award-winning Intelliboost® technology and advanced signal processing, our systems offer superior voice and data performance. They are completely network-safe and designed to work seamlessly with other wireless devices—making them the only carrier-approved mobile signal enhancers available in Australia.
Benefits of Nextivity CEL-FI Mobile Signal Boosters
Australian Carrier Approved
Nextivity CEL-FI repeaters are the only consumer mobile phone repeater that has been widely approved by all mobile carriers in Australia. Currently approved for use on the Telstra, Optus and Vodafone mobile networks, CEL-FI is a new type of mobile enhancement device called a Smart Repeater.
ACMA Approved Mobile Signal Boosters
CEL-FI repeaters comply with Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) regulations. This compliance is essential as it ensures that the use of the device is legal and does not interfere with the broader mobile network. It also means that users can boost their mobile signal without the risk of incurring penalties or causing network issues. Nextivity CEL-FI Smart Repeaters are the only cellular signal boosters/repeaters that have been declared exempt under Schedule 1 of the Radiocommunications Equipment (General) Rules 2021. The current list of exempt models can be found on the ACMA website.
Enhanced Mobile Signal Strength in Remote Areas
Australia's vast and varied landscape includes numerous remote areas where cellular signal is weak or non-existent. The CEL-FI mobile signal repeater addresses this issue by significantly boosting signal strength. This is particularly beneficial for residents and businesses in rural or remote areas of Australia who often struggle with poor mobile reception. Improved signal strength means reliable communication, essential for both personal and business purposes. It ensures that emergency calls can be made without disruption, a critical factor in remote locations. Additionally, for industries like mining and agriculture, which are prevalent in remote Australian areas, consistent and strong cellular signals are vital for operations and safety.
Improved Battery Life of Mobile Devices
A lesser-known yet significant advantage of using a CEL-FI repeater is the extended battery life of mobile devices. When in areas of weak signal, mobile phones and tablets expend extra energy constantly searching for a better signal, which drains the battery quickly. By providing a stronger signal, the CEL-FI repeater reduces the need for this constant search, thereby conserving battery life. For Australians who are often on the move or live in areas with poor reception, this means less frequent charging and longer periods of mobile phone usability. It is especially beneficial for those who rely on their mobile devices for long periods, such as travelers, remote workers, and emergency service personnel.
Optimised Mobile Data Speeds for Business and Personal Use
Slow internet speeds on your mobile device are often caused by low signal. If you suffer from low signal in your home you will be able to relate to the frustration of trying to access email or the internet. The CEL-FI will amplify the mobile signal and increase your data speeds dramatically. Email, internet, video and social networking speeds will be like you never left the office.
Ease of Installation and Maintenance
- Installing a CEL-FI is a simple 6 step process. Install the Donor Antenna
- Install the Server Antenna(s)
- Mount the CEL-FI
- Connect the Donor and Server Antenna(s)
- Connect the power to the CEL-FI unit
- Activate and Optimise your Setup via the CEL-FI Wave App
- Once installed, maintaining your CEL-FI can all be handled within the CEL-FI Wave App.

CEL-FI FAQs
What makes CEL-FI so different from other mobile signal boosters?
CEL-FI mobile signal boosters are smart signal boosters due to their industry-leading signal gain, intelligent boosting technology, and carrier-approved status. Unlike traditional boosters that amplify all signals indiscriminately, CEL-FI devices focus on enhancing the specific carrier signal required, providing up to 100dB gain for robust coverage even in challenging environments without compromising or interfering with your mobile operator’s networks or impeding other subscribers’ signals. This targeted approach ensures optimal performance without interfering with other networks, making CEL-FI a reliable, legal and efficient choice for improving mobile reception.
CEL-FI has been recognised for its superior design and effectiveness and is the only consumer booster authorised for use by ACMA, the Australian Communications and Media Authority, and in other countries such as New Zealand and the UK. CEL-FI are the only cellular repeaters to be approved by network operators Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone.
Does a CEL-FI Mobile Signal Booster support voice and data or voice only?
Yes, CEL-FI smart signal boosters can support both voice and data simultaneously.
Can CEL-FI boost the signal of multiple cellular networks at once?
CEL-FI signal boosters are operator specific, and will only boost one Operator’s channels at a time. Being operator specific is one of the main reasons that CEL-FIs are network safe and can provide 100 dB of signal gain, and why they are the only signal booster approved by a growing number of Operators.
